Academic Advisement Message Board Listing

Academic Advisement hours appear below these important notes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Advisors are available year-round, and students are encouraged to meet with them as early and as often as they wish. There is no need to wait for the start of the registration period in order to meet with an advisor.
It is important to remember that you must meet with an advisor prior to your assigned registration date.
• If you are assigned to the Office of Academic Advisement, you may speak with an advisor at the mid-point of the semester in order to discuss your degree requirements for the following semester. For example, prior to the start of registration for the
Fall semester, continuing students may meet with an advisor as early as the first week of March, and prior to registration for the Spring semester, continuing students may meet with an advisor as early as the first week of October.
•Please keep in mind that meeting with an advisor prior to the start of the registration period will prevent you from experiencing extended wait times in our office.
•Once you have spoken with an advisor in the Office of Academic Advisement and have received a copy of your Advisement Worksheet, your Advisement Stop (“AA”) will be lifted for the following semester and you will be eligible to register on or after y
our assigned registration date.
*For those students who have already officially declared a major, you are required to seek advisement regarding your major requirements within the designated department of that major. These students should consult with that department to determine how
early they may seek advisement. The Office of Academic Advisement does not advise students regarding their Major requirements. However, students in academic majors are encouraged to meet with an advisor in our office to conduct a review of their General
Education, Core, Pre-Major and/or Pre-Requisite requirements.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Students unable to meet with one of our advisors during the hours listed below may meet with an advisor in the Office of Evening & Weekend Advisement. They are located in 2A-204 and can be reached by phone at 718-982-2155.
