On-Campus Interview & Résumé Referral Program

REQUIREMENTS:

To participate in recruitment activities, students are required to register in the Senior Employment Referral Program. In addition, the Office strongly suggests that students attend an Interviewing and Dress for Success workshop. These 45 minutes workshops are designed to help students develop the skills necessary for effective interviewing and presentation. Workshop schedules as well as career related magazines are available in the Office of Career Placement.

Your résumé is an important part of the on-campus recruitment program. It is suggested that you work on a draft copy and have it reviewed by a counselor in the Office of Career Placement. You may make an appointment for a critiquing session or you may leave your typed draft copy in the résumé drop-off box located in 1A-105. Your résumé will be reviewed and can be picked up by you in two business days. After all corrections have been made, bring the printed copies to the office for inclusion in your file. . Please note that your résumé reflects on both you and CSI so we require that certain standards be met to participate in the on-campus recruitment program.

RECRUITMENT:

A list of companies and agencies recruiting on-campus will be available after October 15 for the fall semester and April 15 for the spring semester. You may review the list on the bulletin board outside of the office. The Office will forward résumés of those students that have dropped off their résumés to the recruiting organization. The company then requests to meet with selected candidates. The Office will notify those students that have been selected.

Open Sign-Up is used by employers who forward a position description to us for posting. Those students who feel they are qualified for the posted job can sign up for an interview, on a first-come, first-served basis.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

Remember you are responsible for the success of your job search. If you are selected for an interview, it is up to you to set up your interview appointment. If you need to cancel a scheduled interview it would be helpful to give us at least two days notice to allow another student the opportunity to be interviewed.  If you cancel more than two appointments after you have signed up, you will be required to see the director of the office before another interview appointment is scheduled for you.

GOOD LUCK

Please remember that Career Placement staff members are happy to help you with any of your employment concerns. The On-Campus Recruitment program is just one of the many ways to help you realize your career and job search goals. However, it does not necessarily guarantee you a job or an interview.
