| THE PATHFINDER PROGRAM |
|
The Pathfinder Program is geared toward freshmen who are unsure of their career direction. These series of workshops and mentoring experiences assist students in exploring interests and goals and how they relate to choosing a major and a career. [click here for the pdf brochure]
Pathfinder Workshop
This one-hour workshop, led by a trained career professional, is the first step towards self-discovery and career decision-making. You will take a self-assessment quiz to determine where you currently are and where you need to go in the future. We'll discuss the career-decision making process, choosing a major, and conducting career research. After this workshop, you should have a solid framework for beginning your journey towards self-discovery.
Self-Directed Research
The Self-Directed Search (SDS) is an interest inventory that helps you understand your interests and personality and how they apply to choosing a career. You will view a 15-minute interpretation video, which explains your results and how they can help you in making a career decision.
Career Roundtable
This career counseling group will meet to address any career-related issue. Led by a career counselor, the Career Roundtable is a wonderful way to address your career concerns, while meeting other students with similar issues. Come to just one meeting or come to all. Within a supportive environment, you can explore and seek answers to that age-old question, "What do I want to be when I grow up?"
All Workshops are PG CLUE certified. Please call (718) 982-2300 for dates and locations.
