EDP 626 Principles of Assessment in Special Education
3 hours; 3 credits
The course examines basic principles of measurement, diagnosis, and student evaluation, including domains of intelligence, achievement, language, and behavior. Formal and informal assessment techniques for classification and placement decisions are discussed. Authentic (performance-based) assessment techniques for instructional planning and ongoing assessment are also covered. Twenty hours of fieldwork enhance student's experience in assessment. NOTE: This course has a material fee.
