The teacher candidates role in developing appropriate learning environments is a focal point of this course. Students meet once a week for two hours in a seminar to reflect upon the educational philosophies they have studied and the methodologies they are currently implementing in their own classrooms as they develop their own approaches to teaching and learning. The teacher's role in developing environments that are safe and nurting as well as intellectually stimulating and challenging for all students is examined.
