ENG 687 English Language Teaching and Learning
4 hours; 4 credits
This course examines current theories of second language acquisition and language teaching practices, with special attention to English language teaching in the U.S. The following areas are explored: a history of English language teaching methodology and the factors that have influenced it; current English language teaching research; contemporary English language teaching approaches and their underlying principles; English language teaching techniques in the various skill areas.
