AST 396 Introduction to Astrophysics
3 hours; 3 credits
Celestial mechanics, electromagnetic radiations; their detectors and remote sensing; special relativity, stellar pulsation, general relativity and black holes, the nature and evolution of galaxies, origins, Newtonian and relativistic cosmology. Field trips and/or day and evening astronomical observation sessions will be required. NOTE: This course has a material fee.
