BIO 428 Plant Physiology
3 class hours, 3 laboratory hours; 4 credits
Examination of the basic physiological processes common to all vascular plants. Topics covered include cell structure and function, water transport, transpiration, photosynthesis, solute translocation, nutrient uptake, mineral nutrition, phytohormones, plant tropisms, growth, development, and reproduction. Laboratory exercises will include plant cells, water relations, tissue culture, photosynthesis, phytohormones, reproduction, competition, and symbiosis. NOTE: This course has a material fee.
