COM 200 Media and Culture

An examination of interrelationships among media, cultural production, and their social, historical, political, and economic contexts. This course considers the interdisciplinary approaches of visual culture and cultural studies to understand the roles of institutions, groups, and individuals in creating and using cultural representations and engaging in cultural practices, with an emphasis on the integration of mediated cultural production into everyday life.
