HON 223 Science and Technology in New York City

An investigation into the impact that science and technology have had on contemporary New York. The intellectual and historical roots and the ethical, legal, social, and economic ramifications of such issues as the computer, urban health, the environment, and energy are examined. Scholars visit important institutions related the to field of science and technology within New York City and engage in the process of scientific inquiry as they investigate seminar topics.
Prerequisite: Third-semester standing in the Macaulay Honors College University Scholars Program.
