NRS 211 Psychiatric Nursing
6 class hours, 9 laboratory hours for one-half semester; 4.5 credits
The development of concepts and skills in psychiatric nursing. Special emphasis is placed on developing increased understanding of the nurse’s own behavior and the role she/he plays in interpersonal relationships. The student learns to recognize the components of mental health and the impact of mental illness upon the patient, the patient’s family, and the community. Laboratory experiences in clinical settings and community agencies. NOTE: This course has a material fee.
