PHO 365 Conceptual and Aesthetic Concerns of Image Making – Photography III
4 hours; 4 credits
An appreciation of the intellectual bases of photographic works and their theoretical ramifications. Furthermore, it will expand the student’s critical and aesthetical understanding of the photographic image beyond the standard silver gelatin print. The course shall provide students with the intellectual tools to develop their own individual work and to critically determine if they have done so in a meaningful and substantial manner. Students will study a spectrum of motivations and expressions that exist in the field of photography and apply the gained knowledge to their work. NOTE: This course has a material fee.
Prerequisites: PHO 201 and any other 200-level PHO course
