POL 238 Criminal Law and Procedure

An examination of the development, structure, and practice of the U.S. criminal justice system, focusing on criminal law, law enforcement, the courts, and corrections. Topics include theories and explanations of criminal behavior; ethical issues confronting prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges; social problems with specific attention given to how these issues impact on the criminal justice system.
