An introduction to the forces that have shaped American society. Emphasis is placed on the interaction of political, economic, and cultural factors. Themes include the creation of American myths, the triumph of majority traditions, the American heritage of dissent, and the responses to social crises. (social science) NOTE: This course satisfies the College Option.
