The College of Staten Island Medical Technology B.S. Program gained NAACLS accreditation in October 2012. This prestigious status allows our graduates to sit on the ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) Clinical Laboratory Sciences Generalist Exam.
We are currently preparing for the NAACLS 10/1/2016 Annual Self-Study Report in addition to the NAACLS Spring 2017 site visit.
Dr. Abdeslem El Idrissi, Biology Department Chair and Medical Technology Program Director, invites CSI-MDT graduates to join MDT 375 ASCP comprehensive review class (if you have never registered for the class, please register for 2 credits; so long as you have registered once, you are welcome to join the class FREE OF CHARGE).
Instructors with clinical expertise will guide students through core concepts and LOTS OF PRACTICE QUESTIONS. Graduates who have passed ASCP with flying colors will also share studying strategies and cool tips with the class.
Disciplines to be covered include Clinical Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Blood Banking, Microbiology, Parasitology, Immunology/Serology, Body Fluid Analysis, and Laboratory Operations.
For the Spring 2016 semester, the class will be held 4:40-6:20pm, Mondays, Room 6S-232, starting 2/1/2016. Any inquiries, please contact Dr. Nancy Liu-Sullivan, MDT 375 Course Leader, Email: Nancy.LiuSullivan@csi.cuny.edu
We are also excited to share with you that one graduate, who took the class and passed ASCP recently, scored "999" in Immunology!
