Biography / Academic Interests
: Deepa Aravind’s research interests are in the areas of the adoption and implementation of management practices/innovations in firms. Currently, she is studying the implementation of certifiable environmental management standards. She is also interested broadly in corporate social responsibility issues. She has presented her research at several major academic conferences. In 2008, her dissertation, that examined the implementation of the ISO 14001 environmental management standard in US firms, was a finalist at the ONE (a division of the Academy of Management) Best Dissertation Award competition. During 2006-2007, she was a winner of the Joseph L. Fisher Dissertation Fellowship, Resources for the Future, Washington, D. C. She has taught at Rutgers University, NJ and The College of New Jersey. She has experience working in the software industry in India and the US.
