Biography / Academic Interests
:
Linda Bailey is a labor economist whose research examines differences in labor market and education outcomes by race, ethnicity, immigrant status and family structure. She has studied the impact of the 1986 immigration amnesty on wages and employment likelihood of less-educated Americans. She has also done research on the effect of HIV/AIDS on agricultural productivity in rural Rwanda and the effect of immigration on US housing and rental prices. She is currently a Lecturer in the Political Science, Economics and Philosophy Department at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York. She has previously worked at Baruch College (CUNY) and Wagner College. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University majoring in Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics and minoring in International Trade. She obtained her Master’s degree in Economics from University of the West Indies where she majored in Game Theory and Financial Economics. She also obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies with Economics from University of the West Indies.
