Biography / Academic Interests
:
Professor Garaventa chaired the Department of Business from 1995-2001. Since 1995 he has served as the President’s Liaison to the Business Community. He is a former director of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and the Staten Island Heart Society. He currently serves as a director of the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation, and is also a faculty associate of the Center for the Study of Staten Island.
Scholarship / Publications
:
Eugene Garaventa has focused his research in the areas of privatization and teaching management utilizing classic cinema and literature. He has served as a visiting scholar at New York University’s Taub Urban Research Center, and contributing editor for The National Civic Review.
