Biography / Academic Interests :
Dr. Lihong (Connie) Li is an assistant professor of Engineering Science and Physics at College of Staten Island (CSI). Her research interests include signal processing, image processing, medical informatics, pattern recognition, and computer vision. Dr. Li was a member of the original pioneer team who developed virtual colonoscopy, a safe minimal-invasive approach to detect colonic polyps using medical imaging and computer graphics technologies. Currently, she serves as the doctoral faculty of the CUNY Ph.D. Program of Electrical Engineering, faculty of New York State Center for Advanced Technology in Photonics Applications at CUNY, college curriculum committee member, and CSI branch advisor for IEEE and Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

Scholarships / Publications :
Dr. Li has authored more than 60 scientific publications in refereed journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings, including IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging and IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, and Medical Physics. She holds one pending US patent in the area of medical imaging. She also serves as session chairs in international conferences and referee for many journals.
