Biography / Academic Interests :
Raquel Marta e Silva came to the College of Staten Island in 2013.  Previously, she was a researcher and assistant professor at Lisbon University Institute. Dr. Marta e Silva’s research interests are in creativity and interdisciplinary, human rights, emotion and communication in social work, and environmental sustainability. She has taught courses in Social Work Ethics and Human Rights, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, and Human Rights and Diversity. In addition, she was the Vice Coordinator at the European Anti-Poverty Network in Lisbon, Portugal.  Dr. Marta e Silva also has experience in Psychotherapeutic training particularly with Family Therapy / Systemic Intervention.
