Biography / Academic Interests
: Dr. Lihong Connie Li has taught in the Department of Engineering Science and Physics at CSI since 2003. She completed post-doctoral work in the Laboratory for Imaging Research and Informatics of SUNY at Stony Brook. Her research interests include signal processing, image processing, medical informatics, pattern recognition, and computer vision. Dr. Li was a member of the original pioneer team who developed virtual colonoscopy, a safe minimal-invasive approach to detect colonic polyps using medical imaging and computer graphics technologies. Currently, she serves on the doctoral faculty of the CUNY Ph.D. Program of Electrical Engineering, on the faculty of New York State Center for Advanced Technology in Photonics Applications at CUNY, and as a CSI branch advisor for IEEE and Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
Scholarship / Publications
: Dr. Li has authored more than 60 scientific publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings, including IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, and Medical Physics. She has co-authored one chapter in the book “Handbook of Cancer Models with Applications." She also serves as session chair at numerous international conferences and referees articles for many journals.
