Biography / Academic Interests
: Dr. Blair’s work concerns creating social contexts to build self-efficacy and supportive relationships. Professor Blair began the Psychology Department’s Mentoring Program. She is a practicing psychotherapist who did postdoctoral training in family therapy at Maimonides, Bronx State Psychiatric and Philadelphia Children’s hospitals. She was a Clinical Supervisor for CUNY’s doctoral program in clinical psychology.
Scholarship / Publications
: Professor Blair’s scholarship concerns creation of community services. She has collaborated on a program that trained undergraduates to co-lead multifamily counseling groups for youth on probation and developed courses which give students opportunities to provide services and advocacy. Professor Blair created a video project to promote interracial intergenerational communication between teens and elders in Stapleton. She served on the editorial board of the Journal of Community Psychology editing a special topics issue, Women in the Community, with A. Mulvey and A.D’Ercole.
