Biography / Academic Interests

Heidi M.J. Bertels holds a PhD (2011) in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ and a BS (2002) and a MA (2004) in Integrated Product Development from the Higher Institute of Integrated Product Development, Belgium. Before joining CSI, she taught courses in strategic management, entrepreneurship and corporate entrepreneurship at the University of Pittsburgh. Heidi’s research interests are in innovation management and entrepreneurship. She has published articles in the Journal of Product Innovation Management and Research Technology Management. Heidi was a 2008 and 2009 Best Student Paper Award finalist at the Academy of Management Conference (TIM division). She also received the 2010-2011 Award for Best Teaching in the General Management Major at the College of Business Administration of the University of Pittsburgh.
