Biography / Academic Interests
: Peter Costa has a doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Sarasota and extensive family therapy experience and training from the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic and the Ackerman Institute. With his extensive background and training in family therapy, he has served as an expert witness in child custody cases. In addition, he has extensive work experience in two correctional facility settings: Arthur Kill Correctional Facility in Staten Island and Bayview Correctional facility in Manhattan. During the past seven years, he has specialized in the assessment and treatment of sexually abusive youth by working as a clinician in a Probation Offender’s Program in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Dr. Costa’s research interests in Forensic Psychology include the study of school shooters and the role of attachment difficulties in adolescent sexual offenders.
