Biography / Academic Interests
:
Professor Smith is an Assistant Professor of accounting in the Business Department at The College of Staten Island of the City University of New York. He joined the Business Department Faculty on a full time basis in September, 2005 after spending more than five years as an Adjunct Professor in the Department. He is a Certified Public Accountant (NYS) and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPA’s and the National Association of Business Economists. Professor Smith spent over twenty years as the Managing Director of Christopher R. Smith and Co., CPA’s, P.C., a Staten Island based CPA firm.

Professor Smith is presently conducting research in the areas of Forensic Accounting and financing alternatives and opportunities for retirees.
