Biography / Academic Interests
: Dr. Wang is currently the Chair of Finance Area at the Business Department of CSI/CUNY. He is also the chair of more than a dozen of large-scaled business conferences, seminars and workshops in both the US and China with wide media coverage. Dr. Wang is active in the area of US-China business and culture exchanges, and is the primary contributor for the CSI’s recipient of the prestigious Appreciation Award from the US Department of Commerce in 2004. Dr. Wang has spoken at the various China related business conferences, and is an author for the Chinese business and economy for The New York Times’ web site – China Rises.
Scholarships / Publications
: Dr. George Wang joined CSI after working at AT&T and Bell Labs for ten years as a Lead Analyst with an expertise in market analysis, financial analysis, business and economic forecasting, and evaluation of forecasts. He has published in Business Economics, Journal of Forecasting, Applied Economics Letters, Forecasting Letters, Pennsylvania Journal of Business and Economics, Handbook of Statistics – Statistic Method in Finance, American Statistic Association Proceedings in the US, and some leading economic journals in China, including Journal of Economic Research, Journal of Quantitative and Technical Economics, World Economy, Journal of Economic References, and chapters in several books. His co-authored papers on interest rate spread as the predictor of the US business cycle and the use of the Markov chain to predict the cyclical turning points are well cited in the literature.
