The College of Staten Island offers selective academic programs ranging from the Macaulay Honors College: University Scholars Program, which provides high achieving students with a special honors curriculum of innovative and challenging courses during the first and second years of study, to FIRST, a program designed to provide an environment that helps academically prepared students develop a sense of belonging to the CSI community. The Teacher Academy at CSI, designed for select students interested in teaching science or math, is The City University of New York's unique contribution to the NYC Partnership for Teacher Excellence.
