CIX e-mail Instructions
Bringing Your Online World Together!
Through a CUNY-wide partnership with Microsoft, we are offering students a state-of-the-art e-mail and communication suite. Everything you do online - e-mail, shared calendars and chatting - now works together better than ever with 24/7 reliability. Why use live@CSI? Live@CSI offers significant advantages over the current e-mail services provided to students throughout CUNY, such as:
- 50 GB of storage space
- It's never down!
- Send them all at once! You can send messages up to 14MB in size, including 10MB attachments.
- Connect to your classmates more efficiently! Use the Web-based collaborative tools like shared calendar, post files on Sky Drive.
- Control spam and viruses through filtering.
- Link all your e-mail IDs and check only one account
- Keep your account even after you graduate.
What's my e-mail address?
The convention for generating e-mail accounts is: User name convention: email@example.com Provided that there are no name conflicts, your e-mail ID should remain the same. For example, if there is more than one "John Smith" on your campus, one person's ID will be "John.Smith", the second "John.Smith1" and third "John.Smith2': Password convention: Csi+your EmplID
Where do I login?
"We strongly recommend that you login to your e-mail account at least once every 6 months, to ensure that your messages and attachments are kept intact. In the event that you do not login to your email account for an extended period of time, it will be disabled. While a campus Live account will never be actually deleted from the system, the contents of your inbox will be cleared. To reactivate your account, simply follow the instructions that appear on the login screen. If you experience any problems while attempting to reactivate your account, please contact us."
