 Current CSI Freshmen

Admissions Criteria for Current CSI Freshmen

• A minimum of a cumulative college grade point average of 3.0
• A minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in college mathematics and science courses
• A high school record that is comparable to that required for admission to the CUNY Teacher Academy at CSI by entering freshmen
• Courses in the freshmen year that allow a student to complete the remainder of the "Four Year Academic Plan" in the chosen major within 3 years.
• A strong desire to teach in a middle or high school in New York City

Admissions Process for Current CSI Freshmen  

• Completion of a Teacher Academy supplementary application for current CSI students that includes two essay questions
• Two recommendation letters, including at least one from a college mathematics or science teacher
• Final acceptance is contingent upon the successful completion of your current academic semester program with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• When you have submitted your complete application, please email teacheracademy@mail.csi.cuny.edu and list your name, email address, and high school so that your application can be tracked.
