Virus Protection
CUNY provides all students, faculty, and staff **FREE** Symantec Antivirus protection for their home computers and laptops. To take advantage of this offer, you will need to visit the CUNY E-Mall software center available through the CUNY Portal. Instructions for creating an account on the Portal and for downloading the software.

Virtual Private Network
To ensure the integrity and privacy of personal information, CSI uses a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for its intranet and its access to CUNY Systems. This encrypts all data and uses the best available technology to guarantee security and privacy.

Spam
The College uses a software package called Proof point to quarantine unsolicited emails into personal End User Digest. Users then have the ability to delete emails or add them to a safe list.

What is identity theft?
Identity theft is a crime in which an imposter obtains such key pieces of information as a Social Security number, driver's license number, or credit card number to obtain merchandise and services, credit, and loans in the name of the victim.
