Verrazano School
The Verrazano School at CSI accepts applications from incoming transfer students and from current CSI students.
Transfer applicants must submit a supplemental application for The Verrazano School with two letters of reference. Both the application form and the reference form can be downloaded below.
The Verrazano School is a competitive, highly selective new program for undergraduates at the College of Staten Island . It offers students the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, academically motivated learning community.
Full-time current or transfer students enrolled in a baccalaureate program at CSI may be eligible for the program if they have a GPA of 3.0 at CSI or a previous institution. In addition, to qualify students must have passed or been exempted from all three CUNY Basic Skills exams and:
- Students with 11 or fewer credits must have earned a minimum of an 87 average in high school (C.A.A.) or have scored a 1000 or better on the SAT.
- Students with 12 - 35 credits at CSI or another accredited institution must have a 3.0 GPA and be able to enroll in at least two of their five required Verrazano School designated courses during their first semester in the School. A list of courses is available in the Verrazano School office, 5N-113.
Please note: Students are ineligible for admission to The Verrazano School if they have earned 36 or more college credits.
