Writing Across the Curriculum/
Writing in the Disciplines
for Faculty & Staff
The Writing Program and the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Program at CSI are pleased to announce its next Inkwell essay contest. We are looking for the three best freshman essays (written for a freshman writing course) and the three best across the curriculum essays submitted for a class during the 2012-2013 academic year.
This contest will give students a forum for their writing beyond the classroom. Please share this information with your students.
Students in all disciplines are invited to submit a paper to this contest. There will be two deadlines: one for the fall semester (December 20, 2012) for essays produced during the fall semester, and one for essays submitted during the spring semester (May 23, 2012). Winners will be announced in late June. We encourage faculty to help students choose which paper to submit. The 6 winning essays will be published in our campus anthology Inkwell; contest winners will also receive a cash prize. Students should submit 3 clean copies of their papers to the English department by 12/20/2012 (for fall courses) or 5/23/13 (for spring courses) along with the attached cover sheet.
