Celestial Ball 2019 - Sowing the Seeds for Student Success
A tireless volunteer, a leader who has transformed academics, and two cherished institutions - the Staten Island Advance and the Staten Island Performing Provider System - are the honorees of the College of Staten Island Foundation's Annual Celestial Ball, the Foundation has announced.
The College of Staten Island Foundation’s Annual Celestial Ball was held at the Richmond County Country Club on Saturday, December 7.
The College of Staten Island Foundation held its Seventh Annual Celestial Ball, a traditional that began as the Starlight Ball from the first years of Staten Island Community College, with a black-tie optional celebration recognizing the 60th Anniversary of the College. Presidents Medal Honorees at the Richmond County Country Club included: Michael Kress ’69, ’75, CSI Vice President for Information Technology and Economic Development, and Executive Director of the CUNY High-Performance Computing Center (retired); Patrick McDermott, Partner, McDermott and Thomas Associates and Member, CSI Foundation Board of Directors; and Beatrice Victor, Community Activist and founder of the Staten Island Senior Olympics. The College of Staten Island Foundation held the Sixth Annual Celestial Ball at the Richmond County Country Club. This year’s honorees included Mr. Edward Burke, Staten Island Deputy Borough President; Dr. Christine D. Cea ’88, Member, New York State Board of Regents, and Research Scientist, New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities (IBR); Mr. Cesar J. Claro, President and CEO, Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) and Executive Director, Richmond County Savings Foundation; and Dr. Wilma L.
