Jason Simon earned a Masters of Fine Arts from the Visual Arts Department at the University of California, San Diego. Previously he studied art at the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program, and literature and film at Sarah Lawrence College and Columbia University. He joined CSI’s Department of Performing and Creative Arts in 1999, and joined in the formation of our Department of Media Culture in 2002. From 1989 to 1991, as an Associate Curator, he implemented the Art and Technology Laboratory at the Wexner Center for the Arts, in Columbus Ohio, a unique media artists’ access facility within a major contemporary art museum. He was a segment producer for the PBS series Signal to Noise, and co-founded the lower east side cooperative gallery project called Orchard, from 2005-2008. Prior to joining the faculty at CSI, Jason Simon taught at Sarah Lawrence College and William Patterson University.
