Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for Student Accessibility is to facilitate reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities ensuring equal access to academic and co-curricular programming in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Through robust student support programming, comprehensive services, and a commitment to student learning, staff members work toward creating an environment that fosters empowered students who will realize their potential in a higher education setting. The Center for Student Accessibility believes students need the best preparation possible for success in a global society and competitive workforce. As a result of the intentional efforts of committed professional staff, students with disabilities will be among the most engaged, prepared, and successful students at the College of Staten Island.

What services are available for students with disabilities?
The Center for Student Accessibility, (CSA), is a part of the Division of Student Affairs. The Director and staff of the CSA will work with you to provide accommodations and services. Reasonable accommodations and additional services depend on the documentation students provide to the office. We will work with students to establish the right combination of accommodations and services in an effort to foster full participation in coursework and in the larger college community. Staff members are committed to student success and we are advocates for our students’ needs.

How do I receive services?
In order to receive services, you must register with the Center for Student Accessibility. After you have been accepted for admission to the College of Staten Island, you must submit documentation verifying your disability to the Center for Student Accessibility in 1P-101 (These records are confidential and NOT a part of any permanent records).
