Continuing Education and Professional Development (CEPD) at the College of Staten Island (CSI) is committed to providing quality and relevant professional development that will enhance the field of social work.

We are dedicated to providing professional development that contributes to the social work profession, enhances the Staten Island community and region, facilitates the enhancement of professional skills, and builds organizational capacity. Whether you are providing direct service to clients or functioning as an administrator, we are here to partner with you to meet and exceed your needs for professional development.

Courses and workshops provided are approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) State Board for Social Work.  CEPD at the CSI also provides professional development for NYS-Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) training.

NYS LMSW and LCSW Continuing Education Credits:
College of Staten Island, Office of Continuing Education & Professional Development, SW CPE #0165 has received conditional approval from the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work to offer continuing education to licensed social workers, effective 6/15/2015. The Department may subsequently notify the provider that a particular course or courses is/are not acceptable. This conditional approval is in effect until the Department makes a final determination to approve or deny the provider application.

NYS CASAC Training Provider:
Continuing Education and Professional Development at the College of Staten Island is recognized by New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as an educational provider for individuals preparing for a career in substance abuse counseling and those seeking to obtain a CASAC-T.
