Politics in the Vicinity of War: The New Face of Populist Nationalism in (Eastern) Europe – with a focus on Romania
His main research interests revolve around populism, political identities, and European politics. Prior to teaching, he worked as a researcher in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and was a political advisor at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. He is also the host of a weekly talk show on European politics at the national television’s regional branch in Transylvania, Romania (TVR Cluj). Dr. Stoica’s current research project focuses on a cross-country comparison on how the pandemic and the war in Ukraine have triggered support for ultra-conservative political movements.
