Students enrolled in College of Staten Island's Cloud Academy will achieve recognized industry certifications as Amazon Web Services (AWS) practitioners, and then are able to specialize to become either an AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Development Associate. Students who complete the program successfully will earn CSI Cloud Academy Certifications.

AWS CLOUD PRACTITIONER
This foundational certification serves as the first step for those entering AWS cloud computing careers. Students enrolled in the AWS Practitioner course receive an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, and independent of specific technical roles.
- AWS Cloud definition, AWS pricing philosophy and global infrastructure components
- Security and compliance measures, including AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Utilize Amazon VPC
- Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift and Amazon Aurora usages
- Learning the architectural principles of the AWS Cloud
- Explore key concepts related to Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon CloudWatch, and Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling
AWS Practitioner Certification is required to advance to AWS Solutions Architect and/or AWS Developer Associate courses. Potential students must submit to an eligibility screening to enroll in this program.

AWS SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
Students enrolled in the College of Staten Island Cloud Academy will achieve recognized industry certifications in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The AWS solutions Architect Associate certification with prepare students with skills across a range of AWS services:
- Networking, storage, and database as well as AWS deployment and management services.
- Learning how to implement security controls and compliance requirements.
- Learning how to use the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI)
- Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, AWS networking, security services, and the AWS global infrastructure
- The ability to identify which AWS services meet a given technical requirement and to define technical requirements for an AWS-based application.
