The College of Staten Island has once again earned national recognition in the latest U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges 2026” rankings, released this week. CSI proudly secured the #33 ranking as a Top Performer in Social Mobility—marking a dramatic leap of 49 spots from last year—as well as the #33 ranking among Top Public Schools in the Regional North category, climbing four places from 2025.

The College of Staten Island welcomed a distinguished guest this past week as Rita Moriconi, the Department of State’s EducationUSA Regional Educational Advising Manager (REAC) for the Southern Cone of South America, visited campus to explore opportunities for expanding international collaboration.

For the second time in less than a month, the College of Staten Island has been recognized for the value it provides its students. Washington Monthly has listed CSI in the top 25 percent of its Best-Bang-for-the-Buck Colleges 2025 list for the Northeast. The College is ranked number 60 out of 250.

For the third year in a row, the College of Staten Island has been recognized by Forbes for the value that it brings its students. CSI is one of four CUNY schools that have been named to the magazine’s 25 Colleges with the Highest PayOff list. The designation recognizes, according to Forbes, “a list of the 25 schools that offer students the best returns on their investment—high earnings potential for a relatively low price.”
