Help, Support, & Training

The Help Desk serves as CSI’s first line of defense for computer problems, questions and concerns.  Our commitment is to provide the College community with the technology services required to help you meet your goals.  In addition to software support, we provide departmental training to faculty, staff, and students in various applications, including MS Office, email and CUNY Portal.  We also schedule the computer laboratories for classes, as well as coordinate with other areas within the Office of Technology Systems, e.g. email, network, and telecommunications, to provide support for all your technology needs.  Please contact Doriann Pieve-Hyland, (718) 982.2348, if you have questions or need assistance.  The links below have been created for your convenience.

ECHO

ECHOExperience CSI’s Help Online (ECHO) is an online knowledge base designed to help you get answers to your questions. The knowledge base incorporates technology faq’s (frequently asked questions) with college related faq’s. We hope you find your experience enlightening. For your convenience we have implemented a service that will enable the HelpDesk to remotely access your computer.  This service allows us to provide faster service without the need to install additional software on the computer.  A technician will assist you through the process.

Computer laboratories at the College of Staten Island have preinstalled software ready for use by students. This page lists supported software applications and their locations on campus.

Training, Classes for Faculty & Staff
The HelpDesk provides training to faculty/staff and students in a variety of applications including MS Office, email and CUNY Portal.  Campus wide classes are conducted during the Summer and in late Fall/early Winter.  We also provide departmental training by request.  Workshops are geared towards departmental needs.
