This special CUNY program helps students grow professionally and launch their careers.
It combines academic growth in the classroom with special mentoring, career assistance, and professional development opportunities. This program is being conducted selectively at a small number of departments throughout CUNY. The CSI Department of Marketing is proud and grateful to be included in this program.
This is a game changing opportunity for marketing students! CUNY, CSI, and the Chazanoff School of Business are investing their resources to help students prepare for more successful and fulfilling careers. This program includes several unique forms of support including additional personal, programs, and policies.

Plan Your Studies Effectively
Meet Your Advisor Michael Romano, Hybrid Academic/Career Advisor
Michael earned a BS and MS in Management at CSI and has over a decade of experience in retail and business banking in New York and New Jersey. During his career, Michael learned to use his computer skills and systems knowledge to satisfy customers and build trusting relationships. Michael has also worked as a business adjunct and as
member of the Blackstone Launchpad team in the Chazanoff School of Business. In these roles, Michael helped students grow intellectually and professionally. In addition to his career, Michael enjoys volunteering as a teacher/tutor at a local grammar school, hiking in nearby forests, and spending time with his family.
I help marketing students manage their studies and prepare for their careers. As an academic advisor, I help students understand their career goals and develop study plans that reflect their individual aspirations. As a career advisor, I help students plan their job searches, prepare for interviews, and manage their transition from college to industry.

Cliff Abdool, Industry Specialist
Cliff Abdool is a dynamic professional with over two decades of experience in consultative sales and higher education. His extensive business background has given him a deep understanding of the underpinnings of win-win partnerships. His experience as a CSI alum and seasoned adjunct lecturer has provided him with insight into the unique strengths and ambitions of students in the Chazanoff School of Business. Cliff's military service in the USMC has ingrained a strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence,
which applies to every endeavor. Cliff draws upon his extensive background to bridge the gap between academia and industry by fostering employer partnerships and student success.
I work with colleagues at CUNY and contacts in industry to understand employer expectations and identify potential internships and job opportunities for marketing students. I work with the Academic/Career Advisor to inform students, and match individuals to specific openings.

Chazanoff Achievement Program
Made possible by the generous support of the Lucille and Jay Chazanoff Endowment Fund
This program combines in-class and extracurricular activities to enhance student competencies in Career Planning, Communications, and Professionalism. The goal is to help students prepare intellectually and personally to meet and exceed employer expectations and provide the basis for long term career growth and satisfaction.
As students complete growth modules, they earn micro credentials in areas that the National Association of Colleges and Employers have found to be particularly important in industry. The basic structure of the program is shown below.
This program is powered by Suitable. This cloud & app based system provides real time recognition of achievements and on going tracking. Its as easy as tapping a menu on a smartphone.
