Counseling Center is Operating Virtually
The Counseling Center is offering telephone or video counseling. If you know of a student who is in need of, or is requesting counseling, please ask them to email firstname.lastname@example.org. We also have 24/7 telephone counseling support by dialing our main number which is 718.982.2391. This service offers immediate support and coping strategies but is not intended for ongoing counseling. However, as always, if it is a true emergency, 911 should be called.
Support is also available for students who prefer texting with a counselor. The Crisis Text Line is available 24/7: Text CUNY to 741741 to connect with counselors for free and confidential crisis support and referral.
Welcome to the Counseling Center
The Counseling Center is committed to helping students achieve academic and personal success. We offer individual, group, and couples counseling. Professional counselors are skilled listeners who provide support, help you explore your issues, and help you develop coping skills for success in and out of the classroom. Respect for diversity is a guiding principle in the work we do. Counseling services are free and confidential for students who are enrolled in classes at the College of Staten Island. Medication Services are provided by our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for students who are engaged in counseling at the Counseling Center.
