Dr. Olalekan Adepoju is a lecturer at the College of Staten Island with extensive teaching and research experiences in both US and Non-US contexts. Dr. Adepoju holds a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville, Kentucky and a Master’s degree in English from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His teaching style is marked by enthusiasm and a commitment to fostering critical thinking and empathy among students. At the College of Staten Island, Dr Adepoju primarily teaches first-year writing and also enjoys teaching upper-level courses such as Writing Across the Curriculum. What distinguishes his teaching is a deep sense of responsibility to support students in articulating their understanding and engagement with the world through diverse and inclusive perspectives.
Throughout his career, Dr. Adepoju has cultivated a strong interest in exploring the intersection of rhetoric, transnational writing/communication, and empathy. He has authored various articles in reputable journals such as the Writing Center Journal, Rhetoric Review, and International Journal of Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Higher Education among others, each contributing valuable insights to the field of English language, Rhetoric and Composition as well as writing center studies.
