Creating Accessible Documents for Course Contents
This session provides an overview of the concepts and concrete steps to create or remediate documents in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, or Google slides, and in the learning management system, Brightspace, to make them accessible to all. This includes creating flyers, including video-clips and images in your lectures, and more. It also introduces how to convert documents into accessible PDFs.
Learning outcomes, include:
– Understanding of core concepts and benefits of universal design of learning
– How to use automated accessibility checkers, if available
– Making a document accessible
– Learning the basics of converting documents to accessible PDFs
