This year’s keynote speaker will be Cynthia Chris, Professor and Chair of the Department of Media Culture. She is the author of Watching Wildlife (2006), and The Indecent Screen: Regulating Television in the Twenty-First Century (2019), and co-edited the volumes Women, AIDS & Activism (1990), Cable Visions (2007), and Media Authorship (2013); as well as serving as co-editor of WSQ: Women’s Studies Quarterly (2014-2017). Her scholarship and pedagogy in media studies is informed by women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, and queer studies.
