Teaching in an AI-Influenced World
When educators think about AI right now, we often think about circumventing cheating, or we may feel pressured to use AI in the classroom to acquaint students with a technology they will undoubtedly face in the workplace. However, there are many concerns about AI, from environmental issues to legal and copyright problems.
This presentation examines those issues and how people are encountering AI-generated content in the world right now, affirming the need to develop critical analysis skills to understand AI’s current and growing influence on their day-to-day lives. The presentation concludes with some curated ideas for discussions and assignment-creation in this new teaching environment.
This presentation will be by Danielle Bennet, 2024/2025 CSI WAC Fellow, The Graduate Center, CUNY.
