Entering a career post-graduation can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. The CSI Pathfinder Alumni Mentorship Program pairs students with CSI alumni from business, healthcare, education, media, nonprofits, computer science, engineering, and more. The goal? To share first-hand experience about what it’s like to apply your CSI degree out in the world—all over coffee, email, or Zoom.
How It Works
Students who are interested in being paired with an alumni mentor should email alumni@csi.cuny.edu with their name, major, and career goals. CSI will match students with alumni volunteer mentors based on career interests and availability. Once paired, student mentees will receive an email introducing them to their mentor.
Note, the mentor's role is to provide support, answer questions, and help their mentee navigate their college to career transition; it is not the mentor’s responsibility to get their mentee a job or internship.
A reasonable mentor/mentee relationship consists of 1 to 2 calls or meet-ups a month. Mentors may ask mentees to attend work events or shadow at their office. This is at the discretion of the individual mentor.
Alumni interested in becoming mentors or learning more should reach out to the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@csi.cuny.edu or 718.982.2266.
