NYS Opportunity Promise Scholarship

New York State brings the New York State Opportunity Promise Scholarship (NYSOP) to the College of Staten Island, providing eligible adult learners with financial support to earn an associate degree in high-demand fields. 

The scholarship covers the cost of tuition, fees, books, and required supplies, making it more affordable to return to college and prepare for an in-demand career.

Students must be pursuing an associate degree in one of the following programs: 

  • Nursing (AAS)  
  • Engineering (AS)  
  • Computer Technology (AAS)  

To be eligible for the New York State Opportunity Promise Scholarship, students must: 

  • Be 25 to 55 years of age.  
  • Have not previously earned a postsecondary degree, except for those accepted to the Nursing AAS program.  
  • Enroll in an eligible associate degree program at the College of Staten Island.  
  • Register for at least 6 credits each semester (12 credits per academic year).  
  • Complete the FAFSA and TAP applications.
