An Overview of the Veteran Student Orientation
Incoming student veterans should participate in the Veteran Student Orientation, a one-day program-specific orientation designed specifically for incoming student veterans. Student veterans who are participating in the Veteran Student Orientation should not register or participate in a general New Student Orientation.
In conjunction with the college’s Veterans Support Services, the Veteran Student Orientation assists student veterans’ transition to campus and college life at CSI. In addition, the program will formally welcome incoming student veterans to the college and provide student veterans with information and services to help navigate and maximize their educational benefits. Student veterans will have the chance to learn more about the college’s Veterans Support Services and the Veterans Educational Transition Services. Moreover, the program also introduces student veterans to both community and college resources, and provide student veterans with opportunities to meet other incoming student veterans, veterans support staff at the college, and New Student Orientation Leaders.
Veteran Student Orientation will provide student veterans with opportunities to learn more about campus services such as, the Counseling Center, the Center for Student Accessibility, and the Student Financial Aid Office, and learn more about technology resources through the Office of Information Technology Services, and be provided a tour of our beautiful campus. Refreshments are provided at the Veteran Student Orientation.
