Aida Ismael-Lennon

Aida Ismael-Lennon is a bilingual (Spanish) licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist in NY and NJ. She earned her doctoral psychology degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and has since provided assessment, consultation and counseling in psychiatric and pediatric clinic settings, as well as urban school districts. She maintains a forensic psychology practice providing expert testimony to Family and Supreme courts in NY & NJ for Child Protective Services and the Office of the Public Defender. Additionally, she offers anti-racism training to mental health clinicians working in state agencies in association with the New Jersey Children’s Alliance.

 

Dr. Ismael-Lennon has maintained an active role in the New Jersey Psychological Association having served as co-chair for both the Committee of Diversity and Inclusion and the Committee on Legislative Affairs. She has presented on trauma-informed practices at the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute, Seton Hall University, local school districts and at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology,  intended to help mental health clinicians work more effectively with culturally and ethnically diverse individuals impacted by interpersonal trauma. She has offered course work on multicultural counseling and assessment at several universities. She is a current invitee to the American Psychological Association’s Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology. More recently, Dr. Ismael-Lennon was appointed to the psychology faculty at CSI on August 2023.
